Code of Conduct

1. All Managers, Coaches and Assistant coaches, hereafter referred to as “Coaches” shall consent to a complete criminal background check as required by NBAI.

2. As Coaches, and Parents, you are reminded that the sole purpose of NBAI is to provide an organized enjoyable recreational baseball league for youth age 13, 14 & 15. We are all involved in this organization to promote player development and good sportsmanship through fair and equitable treatment of all NBAI baseball players and competitors. Healthy competition among teams is expected, but under no circumstances should coaches promote or teach illegal, dangerous or unsportsmanlike skills to players.

3. Coaches shall not use smoking and/or smokeless tobacco products at any practice, game, tournament or other NBAI sponsored event while assuming the care custody and control of children under the age of eighteen.

4. At all times, Coaches are responsible for being in control of themselves, other team Coaches, the Players on the team, and the Parents of the team players. At "No Time" are Coaches, Players, or Parents allowed to intimidate or threaten Players, Coaches, Parents or game Officials. Verbal and/or physical abuse will not be tolerated. This is true prior to, during, and after a practice, game, tournament or other NBAI sponsored event.

5. Physical contact with players is strongly discouraged. It is understandable that when a player does well, that a “High Five” or similar celebratory gesture would be acceptable. NBAI will not tolerate unnecessary physical contact of any kind with players.

6. All Coaches are expected to follow all of the bylaws, rules and regulations of play set by NBAI, affiliated organizations, and referenced documents of the WIAA during practice, games or tournaments.

7. If any Coach, Player or Parent feels that un-sportsmanlike behavior or deliberate violation of the rules of the game have occurred they should contact the League Commissioner, NBAI President, or other Executive Board member as soon as possible to report the incident. The incident will be reviewed to determine what subsequent action may be required.

8. Any Coach that fails to comply with this Code of Conduct in its entirety faces potential action to be removed from the position held within the organization. If necessary more severe actions may be taken by the Board of Directors when appropriate.

9. Any Player or Parent that fails to comply with this Code of Conduct could cause the player to be removed from the team and potentially be banned from future play. The Board of Directors would make the final decision based on the issue and information provided regarding all relevant circumstances.
